Son Tra district:
Stretching from the stunning My Khe beach on the south side to the peaceful Monkey mountain in the north, the Son Tra district is the perfect location for ex-pats looking for the proximity of the beach, diversity of local, western, and Korean restaurants, and a range of quality accommodation in more serene surroundings.
Connecting the city with the beach through Dragon bridge and Han Bridge will be two main avenues: Vo Van Kiet and Pham Van dong which are bustling with a range of convenience shops, spas, street vendors, or huge seafood restaurants. The northern part, laying at the base of the Son Tra Peninsula, close to the fishing village offers a more local experience yet keeping the convenience of the beach, local markets, and the mountain for a quick retreat to lady Buddha or the hidden beaches, making it perfect for the people looking to be out of the tourists’ path and immerse in the local culture.
The south side of the Son Tra district, close to My Khe beach offers a wider range of entertainment, shopping, and accommodation from serviced studio and apartments for rent to houses and villas for the long term rental. This area is a mix of tourists, ex-pats, and locals attracted by the stunning Pham Van Dong and My Khe beaches.
The west side of the Son Tra district is characterized by the view of the Han river and its beautiful bridges: Dragon bridge with an impressive fire show, Han Bridge, and the Love Bridge. The riverbank is a bustling avenue with bars, restaurants, cafes, and street vendors. The proximity of the night market and the city center it makes is an appealing destination for expats . Ngu Hanh Son:
Comprising of My An/An Thuong, Khue My and Hoa Hai sub-districts, Ngu Hanh Son district stretches along the beautiful beaches from My Khe Beach to Marble Mountains (and further towards Hoi An) and all the way to the Eastern bank of Han river.
An Thuong is the preferred location for expats living and working in Da Nang due to the proximity of the beach, busy nightlife and the diversity of Western restaurants and cafes with sleek designs and the community feeling, Is a great place to live for people who prefer the convenience of the beach and where English is widely spoken. The area offers a large range of serviced apartments and studios suitable for young professionals.
My An is a fine balance of local lifestyle with quiet streets and alley ways, busy markets and up and coming cool cafes and bars catering to expats and locals looking for a slightly cheaper and more quiet alternative of An Thuong.
Khue My is a fast developing residential area, close to the Marble mountains stretching from Han River to the Vo Nguyen Giap Street where most resorts are located. The area is characterized by quiet, larger streets, corner cafes and convenience stores. Local markets are nearby, as well as Danang’s biggest supermarket: Mega Mart. The housing stock comprises of mainly large and spacious houses as well as some newly built serviced apartments.
Hoa Hai is located close to the end of the city towards Hoi an, offering a great location for expats working in the resorts or even Hoi An, but prefer the proximity of DaNang. Resorts offer a high-end range of accommodation from luxury apartments to Villas for long and short term accommodation while closer to the river side, there will be houses for rent ready to cater to locals and ex-pats at affordable prices.
Hai Chau district is the commercial heart of DaNang city, offering a wide range of restaurants, cafes, gyms, and co-working spaces at varied price points, catering to locals, expats as well as tourists.
There are shopping malls, supermarkets, markets, and late-night food spots never too far away. The epicenter of nightlife and entertainment is located on the Han River West bank with many late night places. It’s a great choice for people that prefer the city life yet being only a 15 minutes’ bike ride to the beach! The price point is generally cheaper for accommodation and living costs as the location is less crowded with tourists.
Thanh Khe district encloses DaNang International airport and the surrounding areas stretching towards the Hai Van Pass, and Danang Bay. Is the industrial and commercial hot spot with many office buildings and specialized shops: Furniture, construction, electronics, and many more. The choice of local food is high but the choice of businesses to cater to foreigners is relatively low.
